Native USDC and CCTP are now live on Starknet — enabling stablecoin settlement, fast crosschain transfers, and enterprise-grade scalability for DeFi, gaming, and payments.

We’re excited to announce that native USDC and CCTP are now live on Starknet!
Starknet is a leading zk-rollup that uses STARK proofs to securely scale Ethereum and pioneer the financial activation of Bitcoin. Aiming to become the execution layer for BTC, Starknet features native BTC staking, a growing BTCFi ecosystem, and cutting-edge research on trust-minimized Bitcoin bridging. Its ecosystem now spans 125+ applications across DeFi, gaming, payments, and more.
Now, with the launch of native USDC and CCTP, Starknet gains access to the world’s largest regulated1 stablecoin and secure crosschain infrastructure. This unlocks institutional-grade settlement, new DeFi opportunities, and low-cost global payments - all powered by the trust and interoperability of USDC and CCTP.
Benefits of USDC on Starknet:
- Offers a regulated1, fully reserved digital dollar redeemable 1:1 for U.S. dollars2
- Enables institutional on/off-ramps like Circle Mint3 for eligible users
- Integrates easily into existing Starknet apps
With CCTP, developers can:
- Enable users to move native USDC securely between Starknet and supported blockchains with 1:1 capital efficiency
- Build apps with seamless crosschain onboarding, swaps, purchases, treasury rebalancing, and more
Key Use Cases
On Starknet, native USDC and CCTP unlock major areas of growth across DeFi and more:
- DeFi trading: Power trading, lending, and 24/7 onchain settlement across apps like avnu, Ekubo, and Vesu
- Gaming and payments: Use stablecoins for in-game economies and global peer-to-peer payments with cost-effective fees such as Ready and Xverse
- Crosschain experiences: Enable fast, capital-efficient USDC transfers between Starknet and supported blockchains with CCTP, improving onboarding, swaps, and treasury management, just like Braavos Wallet
Bridged vs. Native USDC
Starknet currently still supports Bridged USDC (USDC.e), which comes from Ethereum via StarkGate. The Starknet team will work with ecosystem apps to smoothly migrate liquidity from bridged USDC to native USDC over time.
There will be no immediate impact to existing bridges and they will continue to operate as usual. Bridged USDC will remain clearly labeled as “USDC.e” in block explorers, app interfaces, and documentation.
