Trust and security are foundational to any financial platform, especially one operating at global scale. To that end, Circle engaged Deloitte & Touche LLP to perform a SOC 2 Type 2 examination report. The report was issued on December 18, 2025.

SOC 2 controls examination report

Developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), a SOC 2 examination is a report on controls at a service organization relevant to security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, or privacy. A Type 2 report evaluates whether those controls were designed and operating effectively throughout the examination period.

As part of this examination, cybersecurity and technology controls across Circle’s environment were tested. These controls cover areas including system access, monitoring, incident response, data protection, and change management.

Enterprise-grade security, independently tested

Many of Circle’s customers and partners, including fintechs, enterprises, and financial institutions, require SOC 2 Type 2 reports as part of their vendor risk management and compliance programs. Circle’s commitment to transparency helps Circle users move forward confidently across several areas, including:

  • Vendor and third-party risk assessments
  • Internal control evaluations, including SOX-related processes
  • Security and compliance reviews tied to enterprise procurement
  • Regulatory and audit inquiries

The result is greater clarity and confidence for organizations that rely on Circle to support critical financial and operational workflows.
