Sam, Why are you building Zebec?
Zebec is introducing a new form of streaming payments that are instantaneous and continuous. We are delivering a DeFi future where users do not have to go through multiple channels to carry out simple transactions. More importantly, our protocol was built with the vision to bring a twist to streaming. We've all heard of music streaming, but what about money streaming? How about employees getting salary in real-time, artists receiving royalties in real-time, and consumers paying for a video subscription in real-time? We're building Zebec to solve for these use cases. We've come a long way and even expanded our vision to solving security issues for treasury management. There are a multitude of solutions we're coming up with for Zebec, which is what drives us.
What is the most important thing you're solving for at Zebec?
Zebec is creating a new generation of payroll and payment solutions. Continuous settlement over the Solana blockchain means employees can receive their salary by the second. Companies can create capital efficiency and use DeFi to maximize their capital, which are some of the most important problems we are solving. Zebec is creating a new generation of consumer behavior where everything happens in real-time, powered by Solana and USDC.
What keeps you up at night as a founder?
I was born in the middle of nowhere in Nepal. I never saw a bank until I was 13 years old, and now I am helping to create a new generation of financial services products for the masses. This is thrilling and humbling at the same time! The responsibility of carrying the names of 30 million Nepalis and millions of Web3 believers keeps me up at night.
Tell us about your experience as a founder in Web3. How does building a business in this space change the dynamics of starting a business?
Web3 is all about speed and execution. A small team of 3-4 developers can ship a product used by thousands of people in a matter of days. From fundraising to hiring, everything moves at a lightning speed. Everyone is excited about Web3, so it opens an array of opportunities for founders to raise, build and ship quickly.
What message would you like to share with early-stage founders in crypto?
Focus on community and product. If you have a great community, your product will evolve towards product/market fit. Trust in the process and work together with everyone in the ecosystem to create a situation where everyone can win.
